Requests are probably the most common form of prayer. Our first seeking for God should always be for spiritual communion rather than for temporal blessings. However, the Bible does invite prayers of request.
The Bible teaches that prayer requests are answered! The overwhelming majority of the prayer requests recorded in the Bible were not only answered, but were answered Yes. And, where the answer was No, an explanation was given.... Usually the refusal was because the honor, glory, and reputation of God were at stake.
There is often a delay in God’s response to Bible prayers, but when His answer was Wait, He made up for the delay by extra help in order to keep the person’s faith strong while he or she waited. He invited His people to keep on asking until they received a definite response one way or the other.
